Annika S. Hipple is a freelance writer, editor, and translator based in Seattle, Washington. She has more than a decade of experience in editorial work for publications, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and academic institutions.
Her specializations are in travel, the environment and sustainability, international development, and ethnic issues, though she welcomes clients in other fields as well. She is a skilled travel photographer and has a portfolio of images from around the world.
Annika holds an M.A. in Latin American studies from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in environmental studies, Spanish, and creative writing from Middlebury College. A native speaker of both English and Swedish, she is also fluent in Spanish. She has received various grants and honors, including a Fulbright grant for studies in international development at Uppsala University in Sweden and a Tinker Foundation grant for research in Mexico.
In addition to her communications work, Annika works as a freelance tour manager, leading several international trips per year for museum, nonprofit, and university alumni travel programs. She also does occasional local guiding in the Seattle area and has previously worked with mainstream tour companies leading adult and student tours throughout the United States and Canada.
