The Client: Rainforest Alliance is a global organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices, and consumer behavior.

The Project: I was hired to write a fact sheet about the Rainforest Alliance’s REDD+ programs. REDD+ stands for Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation – plus forest conservation, and is designed to help farmers, forest managers, government agencies, and other key stakeholders implement and/or participate in projects to mitigate climate change, conserve biodiversity, and achieve sustainable development objectives. The fact sheet I produced addressed such topics as geographic scope; capacity building for sustainable land management; integrating environmental and social safeguards; providing monitoring, reporting, and verification tools; and REDD+ advocacy and climate policy.
